MAS - Established in 1958, the MAS is the biggest social program privately operated for teachers. It provides financial assistance to surviving beneficiaries of deceased members in the active membership rolls. MAS started as an "abuluyan system", whereby every member donates 10 centavo to the family of every co-member who died. To simplify matters, it was later agreed that regardless of the number of members who die, each members contributes a fix amount monthly and the members of the families of those who died are given a fixed amount. This eventually transformed the MAS into a type of insurance known as mutual benefit system.
MRBS - The Mutual Retirement Benefit System is the original and old retirement plan of the PPSTA. In this system, members may purchase a minimum of one share and a maximum of four shares of P4.00 per share per month. The annual investment of P48.00 becomes P100.00 after one year. The rate of benefits depends on the number of years of membership to the system. Should a member die before retirement, benefits are computed according to the following schedule:
NMRBS - The New Mutual Retirement Benefit System is the current PPSTA retirement plan for new members. You pay a certain amount depending on your age for twenty years until you retire, whichever comes first. Upon maturity, you will be paid P50, 000.00. While you are paying, you are insured for P50, 000.00.
DORMITORY - The PPSTA offers a comfortable and affordable dormitory for teachers in the province visiting the National office at Banaue, Quezon City.
SSL - The Sariling Sikap Loan (SSL) Program is the PPSTA's lending program designed to help teachers who are in need of money. Exclusively to PPSTA members, the SSL is a loan for teachers with fast processing and a minimum amount of interest in a easy-to-pay scheme. Sariling Sikap Loans are granted to members who qualify under the guidelines to help them set up livelihood projects payable in 12, 24 or 36 months as the members may opt. This is capitalized from the P45 million interest-free deposit of the national government with the PPSTA under Letters of Instruction 860 and 1943.
SCHOLARSHIP - In line with the desire of the Association to help members grow professionally, deserving teachers are granted scholarships. There are two types of scholarships: Summer and Full-time.The grants are allocated to the 13 regional associations in proportion to the membership in the PPSTA.
