Q. How fast can I get a loan?
A. When funds are available and your documents are complete, you can get your loan within one (1) day.
Q. Why was I made to wait several days the last time I borrowed before I gat my loan?
A. Sometimes the Department of Education does not immediately release the money collected from the members of the PPSTA intended for the PPSTA. The PPSTA lends out most of its available cash to its members. If the payments of those who have borrowed are not remitted on time to the PPSTA by the DepEd, sometimes the PPSTA runs out of cash to lend.
Q. How much interest do I pay for my loan?
A. If you borrow P10, 000.00 you pay P1, 000.00 a month for one year or P12,000.00. if you borrow P5, 000.00 you pay P500.00 a month for one year or P6, 000.00. Actually, you pay within fifteen (15) months because deduction does not begin until the third month.
Q. Some say they could not be given a loan because the PPSTA is already bankrupt. Is it true?
A. No that is pure hearsay because the total assets of the PPSTA is now more than One Billion Four Hundred Million Pesos (P1, 400, 000, 000.00). About P550 million is in the form of property. The rest is in cash and receivables. Some of it is lent out to the members under the Sariling Sikap Loan Program. The rest is held to pay for the MAS, NMRBS benefits for those who die. The PPSTA pays about P13 million a month for MAS and NMRBS benefits.
